In today’s dental practice, 40% of revenues come from crown and bridge procedures. In addition, a staggering 45% of all billed direct restorative procedures are Class II’s! The goal of this course is to teach efficiency while imparting competency in these key areas: the single-unit crown and posterior composite dentistry. By course end, the audience will be able to select appropriate indirect materials and the glues we choose to hold them. Furthermore, attendees will be able to utilize knowledge of the newest direct restorative materials to perform and restore more competently and efficiently.

Dr. Bizga is a general dentist practicing in Cleveland, Ohio. His background in dentistry is lengthy and diverse. Once a former chairside assistant, he also worked as a dental lab technician, making his perspective unique among others in the field of dentistry. He received his DDS from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he is also an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association and a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry.


Dr. Bizga is a Certified John Maxwell Speaker/Trainer/Coach, a certified DISC profile trainer, clinical consultant for The Dental Advisor, and Director of Education at Smile Source. Dr. Bizga gives back to the community via dental missions around the world.

“The Changing World of Implant Dentistry: Todays Digital Solutions & Treating Complex Rehab Cases”

This is a course designed for Restorative Doctors which focuses on the use of digital technology in treatment planning and overall treatment with dental implants including complex rehabilitation. A review of several clinical treatments with different scenarios will be used to demonstrate the clinical workflow, available technologies, and contemporary methods for treatment.



  • Learn the different technologies available to plan and execute treatment using dental implants

  • Understand clinical workflow for implant planning and restoration including best methods for communication among implant team members including restorative dentists, surgeons, and laboratory technicians

  • Understand the space requirements and material recommended for treatment of dental implants

  • Understand which products are ideal to make these cases a reality

Dr. Masri is a tenured Professor at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and School of Medicine. He is the Program Director of the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics and the Director of the Division of Prosthodontics at the Department of Advanced Oral Sciences and Therapeutics. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Prosthodontics, as Past President of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, and the President of the American Board of Prosthodontics.


Dr. Masri is heavily involved in developing and implementing cutting edge technologies used in oral health care. He lectures nationally and internationally and serves as an external examiner for international dental schools in the field of prosthodontics. Dr. Masri is the author of the first book on the applications of digital technologies in the dental field. He has authored numerous scientific papers, holds several patents, and currently supervises a federally funded research laboratory. Dr. Masri received many honors including the 2013 American College of Prosthodontist (ACP) Clinician Researcher Award, the 2015 Maryland LIFE Award for the most promising technology, the 2018 ACP  Distinguished Service Award and the 2021 Wilson Elkins Endowed Professorship.

Rebooting the 2016 ADHA Dental Hygiene Standard of Care for 2022. We will explore better communication tools, risk assessments and tips for successful patient engagement. Learn strategies and guidance for proper application and documenting the current preventive ADA CDT codes and how to apply them when making a dental hygiene treatment plan for your patients.

Course Objectives:

  • Construct dental hygiene treatment plans using the ADHA’s Dental Hygiene Process of Care as a guide

  • Demonstrate the use and learn the value of a dental risk assessment while creating your dental hygiene treatment plan

  • Discover motivational interviewing techniques to create and engage better learning opportunities and set your patients up for success and better oral health outcomes

  • Using the list of current ADA CDT Codes the participant will gain comprehensive knowledge regarding the correct use of the preventive codes at the dental hygiene visit.

  • Participant will be able to confidently and accurately maintain consistent documentation, submit the correct ADA CDT codes to dental benefit carriers to reduce errors, prevent costly mistakes, improve legitimate reimbursement. and prevent malpractice claims.

The Third District Dental Society’s Greater Capital District Dental Symposium will be held on October 7, 2022 In Person at the Albany Marriott, 189 Wolf Road in Albany, NY.


After two years of virtual we are pleased to be back in-person for the Third District Dental Society’s Greater Capital District Dental Symposium. The Symposium has been well attended event for member dentists, their hygienists, dental assistants and office staff, as well as dental professionals from surrounding dental societies.
